Before you go to Phillip Island…
Australia is an amazing country and if you’ve only seen it on http://www.direct.TV/ travel channels you should really plan a trip. If you’re lucky enough to be making the journey sometime soon to Phillip Island, remember this checklist before you go:
Talk to your doctor. There are a lot of shots needed if you’re going to be doing any hiking or swimming and why else would you come to Phillip Island? Get the vaccines you need to stay healthy and safe on your once in a lifetime trip.
Get a visa. Australia is relatively lax with US visitors but you’ll still want to plan ahead of time to make sure you get your visa approved. The last thing you need is to buy a ticket then be turned away at the last minute.
Book ahead of time. Phillip Island is tiny and unless you’re planning on staying in a tent you’ll need to make hotel reservations well in advance. Since there aren’t a ton on the island they can afford to hike up prices so plan the rest of your trip budget accordingly.
